BEGUN POSTO(BRINJAL WITH POPPY SEEDS)

BEGUN POSTO IS AN AUTHENTIC BENGALI DISH WHICH IS ALMOST EVERY BENGALI'S FAVORITE..

MADE WITH MINIMUM INGRIDIENTS AND AS SIMPLE AS ANY OTHER RECIPES LETSS BEGIN AND SEE HOW IS IT MADE...!!!!

INGRIDIENTS:

1.BRINJAL - 1/2 CUT INTO CUBES

2.METHI SEEDS- 1 TSPOON

3.CHOPPED GARLIC(LEHSUN)- 1 1/2 TSPOON

4. GREEN CHILLI CHOPPED- 1 TSPOON

5. TURMERIC POWDER - AS PER REQUIREMENT

6.SALT- AS PER REQUIREMENT

7. OIL- AS PER REQUIREMENT

8. POPPY SEEDS PASTE(POSTO PASTE)- 4-5 TBSPN

METHOD:

1. WASH BRINJAL AND CUT IT INTO CUBES.ADD TURMERIC AND SALT MIX AND KEEP IT ASIDE FOR MARINATION.

2. SOAK POPPY SEEDS AROUND 3-4 TBSP IN HOT WATER AND THEN MAKE PASTE OUT OF IT IN A GRINDER.

3. ADD MUSTARD OIL IN A PAN AND FRY ALREADY CUT BRINJAL IN IT TILL IT BECOMES SMOOTH.

4. THEN TAKE IT OUT AND KEEP IT ASIDE.

5. NOW TO THE REMAINING OIL ADD CHOPPED GARLIC FRY IT FOR SOMETIME AND THEN ADD CHOPPED GREEN CHILLI AND METHI SEEDS AND FRY TILL METHI SEEDS START SPLURTING.

6. NOW ADD POPPY SEED PASTE.

7. FRY FOR SOMETIME AND THEN ADD SOME WATER AND MIX IT PROPERLY

8. NOW ADD ALREADY FRIED BRINJAL PIECES AND MIX IT PROPERLY

9. NOW LOWER DOWN THE FLAME AND LET IT COOK FOR SOMETIME.KEEP ON MIXING IT AT REGULAR INTERVALS. IT WILL BECOME LIKE SHOWN IN THE PICTURE BELOW

10. WHEN IT BECOMES DRY SWITCH OFF THE GAS AND ADD 1 TBSP OF MUSTARD OIL IN IT AND THEN MIX IT.

11. AFTER MIXING GIVE IT SOME STANDING TIME AND THEN SERVE ..
